A Community-Based Initiative
River & Laurel Nature Programs gives children and their families a space to connect with each other, and with nature. Led by an experienced nature-based and early childhood educator, our classes weave together naturalist education, Waldorf whimsy, Montessori independence, and caregiver support in natural spaces. Look for our offerings hosted throughout Columbia County, PA!

Seasonal Celebrations
Join River & Laurel to celebrate seasonal changes in nature. Acknowledging and honoring seasonal celebrations keeps us connected to each other, and to the Earth. Stay tuned for a Winter Solstice Gathering that will take place sometime this winter!

Children ages 1-5 can bring their favorite adult for a morning of nature play and learning at the Pump House Weddings and Bed & Breakfast. Classes run for 1.5 hours and include unstructured nature play, a welcome circle, and more.Â

Mothers, Natured
Gather outside with moms and their children. This secular group will provide space for unstructured nature play and adult connection. Join us if you're looking for a supportive, judgement free, inclusive, non-religious, and nature-loving community.Â
Gatherings Coming Soon!Â

What can you expect?
River & Laurel classes are designed with childhood development, best practices in nature-based learning, and community building in mind. At each class you can expect developmentally appropriate activities, lots of unstructured time in nature, opportunities for risky play, adult mentoring and modeling, a guiding rhythm, and tea to bring us together.Â

Be sure you and your child dress for the weather. Our classes take place rain or shine - some of the best play happens in tricky weather. When you register, you'll receive a gear suggestion list.Â
